Getting On The Same Page As Food Suppliers

When I started ordering the supplies for my parent's restaurant, I realized that it was a lot harder than I had initially anticipated. The work was long, tiresome, and incredibly challenging. I also didn't know how to properly project how much food we would burn through, which made it difficult to order. However, as I continued ordering, I learned the tricks of the trade, as well as how to get on the same page with food suppliers. Check out these posts to find out how you can streamline your restaurant ordering, save money, and alleviate order-related problems with great ease.

Use Juice Concentrate Products To Fulfill Your Preschool's Menu

If you will be serving two meals and two snacks during a preschool program this fall, healthy ingredients that are easy to use will fare well with the parents of the students and will make your kitchen staff's workload manageable. If some children are allergic to milk products and sugary beverages are altogether omitted from the menu, juice concentrate is a product that is readily available and that can be used during each classroom eating session.

Learn About Juice Concentrate And The Product Line

Standard fruit juices contain mostly water and a juice concentrate product is condensed, due to a lot of the water being extracted during the manufacturing process. Some concentrate products have been pasteurized and fortified. Before ordering juice concentrate from a food supplier, find out about the flavors, the container sizes, the storage methods, and the yield that you can expect to attain, once fresh water has been added to a product.

Since many young children tend to prefer one fruit type more than others, select a variety of concentrate products, including apple, fruit punch, and grape. Choose products that meet the daily diet requirements, including a full serving of Vitamin C and order enough juice to fulfill a couple month's worth of meals and snacks that will be served to the children.

Having plenty of juice on hand will not only ensure that the beverage portion of your menu will be satisfied on a daily basis, but will also satisfy special occasions, in which an extra large group of children will be present or when extended family members will be visiting the center and you would like to provide some refreshments at the end of a function.

Store And Rotate The Juices

Many concentrate products are frozen, but there are also some brands that manufacture concentrated juice that can stored at room temperature. Before your juice concentrate is delivered to the preschool facility, have your kitchen staff assist with moving around items so that there will be plenty of room for the juice products. During this time, you can decide how you would like to use the juices for the meals and snacks that are being served.

Use a rotation procedure, which involves making several pitchers of the same type of juice and then switching the flavor the following day or request that your kitchen staff prepares several pitchers of juice each day, but makes only one batch of each juice type.

If you think you'll benefit from ordering in bulk, contact a juice concentrate supplier in your area to get started today.
